KAYAKING

I do a lot of kayaking. Normally, I will kayak either 2 or 3 days a week

One of the disciplines I spend time doing is playboating. Playboating involves using a short boat (around 6 feet long) to do tricks and stunts. It is my favourite type of kayaking. Playboating can be done on flat water and on moving water, I am more practiced at playboating on flat water because it is more accessible. You don't have to travel for a long distance to find flat water.

Another discipline of kayaking is white water. I am a qualified BC White Water Kayak Leader, as well as a Paddlesport Instructor, and have completed my Core Coach training. Most weekends I go to a nearby piece of natural or artificial whitewater and kayak down it.

During the coronavirus pandemic I was unable to go kayaking, and so I decided to make a Lego stop-motion kayaking video. The finished piece is shown above and represents several days of editing and filming. It was also a chance for me to practise my skills in Adobe Premiere Pro by erasing the support structures that stopped the boat from sinking. The video was also featured on Kayak Session
